Resident of the Month October 2024

Meet Carolyn Miller, Traditions' October Resident of the Month! Carolyn has called Traditions at North Willow in Indianapolis, Indiana, home for six years.

"My daughter-in-law's mother lived here - that helped me make my decision easier. Traditions at North Willow is a very nice place," said Carolyn.

Carolyn was born in Aurora, Indiana, a quaint town near the Kentucky border and on the Ohio River.

Carolyn and her husband, Floyd, a salesman, raised their only son, Craig, in Plainfield, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis.

Before retiring, Carolyn was a High School English teacher in Whiteland, Indiana. Her chosen profession reflected her love of writing.

When asked about her hidden talents, Carolyn's modesty shone through. She laughed and said, "If I have a talent, it must really be hidden!" Her humility is as endearing as her many talents.

The North Willow team would disagree… Carolyn's love for gardening is truly inspiring, and her apartment is a testament to her green thumb, adorned with many beautiful plants.

"I've had terrariums for years," exclaimed Carolyn. "I just love creating them!"

She smiled and continued, "Traditions at North Willow has many great activities, but I enjoy playing Rummikub with the other residents. I really like my fellow residents, the staff, and the leadership team. Oh, and the chef makes delicious soups,"

"Carolyn is a beautiful, kind, giving lady that we are so fortunate to have here at North Willow," said Libby Mellinger, Executive Director. "She has been here for six years and has helped us welcome many new residents. Her smile and joy for life is contagious. North Willow wouldn't be the same without her! We just love Carolyn!"
